5.38pm Crayford Race Preview 04/07/2017

Greyhound Racing Tips - Crayford

Twice in his three race career, Droopys Hyde has been sent off a warm order. He lines up again on Tuesday afternoon for a fourth bite of A7 grade at Crayford. Our greyhound tips will be live later on this evening, let’s get down to business with the myracing greyhound syndicate runner today.

5.38pm Crayford 4th July A7 grade

Droopys Hyde – It was a much better effort from the traps last time out, clocking a 3.65 sectional, a full length quicker than he had done in either of his previous two races. It brought him to the first bend in close contention but he went straight on, barrelling into the 3 dog and losing all chance. He is a difficult one to evaluate as he clearly has talent, but his rather babyish manner and lack of trackcraft is currently holding him back from putting it into action on the track.

Lismore Sophie –  Pup making her Crayford debut, she has improved chunks with each trial, although she is yet to show huge amounts of early pace. She moves middle which is going to be a help to Hyde, but he has had middle movers in 2 before and been unable to take advantage. This doesn’t look too hard a race for her to be starting off in, looking to have a solid chance of getting off the mark at the first time of asking.

Fawkham Mercedes – Off the track since coming into season in May, she found trouble in her re-grading trial. That is nothing unusual for her, she finds trouble in races the majority of the time. Just seven and a half weeks out of season, it will be a while until we see her back at her best, although this is a weak race for the grade.

Lets Go Again – The only other male in the race and by far the most exposed runner, he will be a veteran come October. He won in this grade at the end of April but has struggled in the main since. He is another in the line up who is only an average starter, he will need to trap clever if he is to get round without a bump here.

Anfield Mary – Another on her way back from seasonal rest, she is 13 weeks out so is approaching the ‘magic’ 16 week number. She was victorious in an A8 last week, in an eyecatching performance that saw her bumped back to last on the opening turn, before roaring past the field to score by 3/4 of a length. It will be tougher up a grade but she has performed well at this level in the past.

Jaxxon A Solo – She impressively ran riot in this grade back on the 1st of June, scoring by 3 1/4 lengths in 23.92 calculated. She has failed to get anything like a clear run since, but she has the most consistent early pace in the line up and that gives her an excellent chance to get her head back in front again,

Conclusion

Another weak looking A7 contest for Hyde, again with a 2 who moves middle on the straight and therefore should give him plenty of room to operate. He has failed to take advantage of a couple of similar opportunities already, looking like he needs a little more time to mature. If he were to hit the lids, he would have a great chance but he comes with risks attached at present. 2 has got in a little lightly perhaps, 6 spots quicker than Droopys Dazzle in qualifying yet a grade lower to start so she looks the one to beat on the inside, with the 6 likely to lead outside.
