4.27pm Crayford Race Preview 14/11/2017

A Tuesday afternoon visit for Meenagh Mourinho to Crayford for an A2 assignment. Trap 5 again, but he ran well in a really deep race for this grade last time. Our greyhound tips for Tuesday night will be up by 6pm this evening. Let’s break down the task that stands in front of Jose this afternoon.

4.27pm Crayford 14/11/2017 A2 Grade

Yahoo Esther – As with so many Droopys Jet’s early pace is her weapon of choice. She doesn’t really stay this 380m trip though, regularly leading until they swing for home but giving best late on. She picked up an A3 last time out but needs trouble behind to win this.

Teddybear Pops – Arrived in the U.K from the same track as Jose, in fact he was behind Jose when they met both on the 29th of July at Drumbo and on his debut here on the 30th September. Paces up well to the bend but will need a smash break to clear the 1.

Snowdon Hank – Spent the majority of his career at top grade, he was behind Jose when dropped to this level last time. He doesn’t have the early pace to clear the inside so needs plenty of luck once he starts to wind things up from halfway.

Castlebride Maud – Another who was in arrears of Jose last time out, having been running in A1 over the summer. She does have a smash break in her locker, winning in a slick 23.48 at this level in August but there is plenty of early pace in here once more.

Meenagh Mourinho – Ran a blinding race at this level last time, in a race that was an A1 in all but name. As mentioned he was in front of both the 3 & 4 there and has beaten the 2 in the past. He will need to be on his toes at the lids but holds a solid chance.

Ballymac Jimbob – Trialled in well but had to drop to A3 level before he got his head in front here. He had a breathtaking 3.43 sectional in a trial though hasn’t got within 10 spots of that since. Has the ability to win but needs to do everything right.

Conclusion

As one would expect this far up the grades, this contest is full of bundles of early pace. The break and run to the bend are going to be more crucial than ever here. 1 is a short runner but may deny the 2 the lead he needs to be seen to best effect. Jose beat the 3 and 4 last week and despite not having stripes once more, his presence inside the 6 means that Jimbob isn’t the easiest to support with so much other early in here. A tight knit race but if Jose times the break, he will be in there pitching with his usual honest run.
