4.25pm Fakenham Tips & Betting Preview 20/10/2017

4.25pm Fakenham tips for Friday’s Class 3 race. A very competitive handicap is on prospect for the fifth race of the day at Fakenham on Friday. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: Finishing third in very tough Listed race at Huntingdon back in March, ACTINPIECES was a useful novice last season and can do better this campaign for her connections. Her current mark is by no means harsh and she should be very tough to beat here on seasonal debut for Pam Sly, whose yard is flying at present. Catamaran Du Seuil is back in calmer waters after fading late in a Listed contest on seasonal debut, so he shouldn’t be far away.

1 ACTINPIECES – Progressive over fences last season for the in-form Pam Sly yard, winning three starts ago at Catterick before falling on her latest start. Her current mark is by no means harsh and she goes on a sounder surface, so she is the one to beat under Gina Andrews, who claims three pounds.

2 MERCERS COURT – Has a good record over fences with five wins from thirteen, now only a pound above his last winning mark. That is due to two poor performances of late, weakening tamely at Plumpton when last seen. Hard to make a case for him in his current mood.

3 GOWANAUTHAT – Completed a hat-trick over the larger obstacles back in September 2016 but the handicapper managed to tame him subsequently. He was well beaten when unseating his rider at Fontwell last time and looks up against it once again.

4 CATAMARAN DU SEUIL – Very much hit of miss for Dr Richard Newland but he’s a useful performer, though he was tailed off on chasing debut at Market Rasen. That was a competitive Listed race though and back in calmer waters, with race fitness, he looks a strong contender.

5 RAKTIMAN – On a very competitive mark if judged on his hurdling form and he returned this season with a good fourth on the flat on Pontefract. He should be fit on the back of that run and he’s an interesting runner.
