4.05pm Warwick Tips & Betting Preview 26/09/2017

4.05pm Warwick tips for Tuesday’s Class 4 race. A shade under two and a half miles in front of the field of fillies and mares, it’s a competitive looking contest over hurdles, with the jump season proper just around the corner. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: FOOL TO CRY showed some solid form on her first campaign over hurdles, promising to do better this season with that experience under her belt. She could feasibly improve considerably for the step up in trip this year and is the one to beat. Rebel Yeats is another who should do better as she matures and so rates as the main danger. Fit The Brief is a regular in the places so more of the same is expected here.

1 WHAT A SCORCHER – Won this race last year from two pounds lower, she has struggled for consistency since. A first-time tongue strap gets fitted now in a bid to see her races out better; each way chance if it works.

2 REBEL YEATS – Course winner over shorter in May, she has shown consistent form in placed efforts since. Off a workable mark judged on her handicap debut so is one to consider from an each way point of view.

3 MARIENSTAR – Third of four at Huntingdon in May but not beaten far. She was beaten a long way out at Fontwell last time however. Ground and trip are fine for her, but she lacks the consistency to support with any confidence.

4 FOOL TO CRY – Picked up a couple of hurdles at the minimum trip last season. Placed from this mark, so fairly treated as she steps up to this trip for the first time. Still unexposed so if the extra distance helps as expected she is the one to beat.

5 MISS MASH – Only one win to her credit, she does nothing quickly. Soft ground is fine, but 16 pounds higher than her sole win over a short enough trip suggests that she needs a bit more to figure.

6 EARTH LADY – Showed little in five starts last season, including when tried in a handicap. In the right hands to progress, but she needs plenty more to defy this mark over what appears to be a trip that will be short of her best.

7 STATION CLOSED – It took a move to Gordon Elliott to finally get her off the mark. The trip is no issue, however the best of her form has been on better ground, with the move to a new yard another question mark against her.

8 FIT THE BRIEF – 15 race maiden, her placed form suggests that she has enough ability to pick up a race. Solid chance of hitting the frame once more with conditions in her favour for a yard coming off their best ever season.

9 BITTER VIRTUE – Seven pounds above her sole winning mark in May. She has been poor since on soft ground so any cut has to be a concern for her, with ground to make up with a number of these on their run at Worcester last time.

10 JAZZ THYME – Second three times in a row, the tongue strap is back on here having been missing on those occasions. Yet to score in 16 starts, she wouldn’t want too much cut in the ground; probably no better than an outside squeak.

11 MILAN OF CRYSTAL – Best form thus far on quick ground or at plating level. Placed from two pounds lower a couple of runs back, she needs another step forward if she is to play a hand in this contest.

12 KEEPIN TIME –  Shown very little so far, including in a pair of handicaps. She gets a tongue strap fitted for the first time, but that is going to have to produce a miraculous effect if she is to improve enough to win this.

13 DISTANT HIGH – Tough to win with, she has slipped down the weights under both codes this year. Conditions are no problem, but tough to fancy given her recent level of form.
