This is a very competitive race and you’d do well to rule out plenty of these, including Wissahickon and Beringer, who are closely matched on their latest meeting. Mark Johnston has won four of the past five renewals of this race though and preference is for his COMMUNIQUE, who has been disappointing the last twice but there have been excuses. Three starts ago he was an impressive winner at Newbury and that performance is not easily forgotten. With today’s conditions ideal, he can bounce back to form.
