2.10pm Ayr Tips & Betting Preview 15/11/2017

A decent field size for this Class 4 mares’ chase with a prize of £4,874. Read on for expert analysis and betting tips.

IN SUMMARYWIDE AWAKE put in a much improved performance last time and another step forward would see him bang there at the business end today. Attention Seeker returns to jumps having improved on the flat and should also be considered in a tough race.

1 CONQUER GOLD – Won nicely off this mark back in March over fences and is three pounds higher in that sphere now. Theoretically is well handicapped and is quite lightly raced so further progress is not impossible; considered.

2 PAPER ROSES – Was sent off a big price for her handicap debut when last seen but ran a big race to be beaten just a length. Has had a 203 day break since then but is only up two pounds and has further potential in handicaps.

3 WIDE AWAKE – Bounced back from a few bad runs to run a stormer last time out when beaten under two lengths. Soft ground is a question but that last run was a big leap forward and further progress can be expected so a big show expected.

4 CASCAYE – Won three starts ago and followed that with a nice race when third next time. Struggled throughout on her last racecourse appearance however and was eventually pulled up after a bad mistake so has something to prove.

5  ATTENTION SEEKER – Hasn’t been seen in this sphere for a few months but has been in great nick on the level and needs to be taken seriously. Her current handicap mark looks fair considering her flat improvement and she should be shortlisted.

6 DARK SUNSET – Has won two of her three starts in novice company which can’t be knocked but the form doesn’t look particularly strong. A mark of 110 doesn’t look all that lenient on handicap debut and she needs to take a step forward.

7 PRESENTING ROSE – Has clearly had her problems given that she only raced last year but that was a respectable effort and she had some good form in 2015. This looks a tough enough ask off another year break but she should be shown some respect.

8 OUR VALENTINA – Won a big field maiden at Navan but was slightly underwhelming on handicap debut. Needs an improved performance if she is to have a say here but remains with potential and would be dangerous to rule out just yet.

9 THEATRE ACT – Didn’t run much of a race two weeks ago at Sedgefield and has to bounce back here today. She is racing off one pound lower than her last winning mark today but needs a revival and wouldn’t be an attractive betting proposition.

10 YEATS BABY – Switched to a new yard recently but made a slightly underwhelming debut and will have needed to come on for that run. She doesn’t look impossibly handicapped on known form but will need to take a step forward.

11 MAUREEN’S STAR – Switches back to rules after a couple of poor point-to-point runs. She hasn’t got the most convincing profile having been beaten a long way in the majority of her starts and isn’t an appealing proposition in this company.
