12.40pm Bangor Tips & Betting Preview 15/11/2017

A field of 11 for this Class 4 handicap chase for a prize of £3,899. Read on for expert analysis and betting tips.

IN SUMMARYTRUCKER’S HIGHWAY races off the same mark today as when winning last time due to his rider’s claim and can go in again. Jayo Time is a lively outsider who looks very well handicapped on old form and runs for a yard in flying form.

1 HALO MOON – Looked rapidly progressive when racking up a hat-trick but that was in early 2016 and he hasn’t been seen since. Would have to be respected if returning at full fitness and peak form so any positive market moves would be significant.

2 TRUCKERS HIGHWAY – Last seen winning comfortably at Worcester and has been put up five pounds for that win. A claimer takes off five today so he races off effectively the same mark today and should run another big race.

3 CLOUDY BEACH – Won two starts ago but that was back in 2016 and he was pulled up on his reappearance at Chepstow 31 days ago. Would be a player if returning to his form from 2016 but has to be taken on trust that he can regain that level of form.

4 JAYO TIME – A talented horse who has won off higher marks than this in the past but hasn’t been in the best of form this season. Kerry Lee has had three winners from her last nine runners however and he is very well handicapped if the spark is still there; interesting.

5 AGEMEMMON – Was sent off a warm favourite for his stable debut but might have just bumped into one when finishing a clear second. The handicapper has left him alone and he’s clearly thought capable of running a big one off this mark so is shortlisted.

6 BARTON ROSE – Has been placed in her last three starts and one of those was a wide margin win. She failed to follow up off seven pounds higher but wasn’t disgraced in third that day and still has potential in conditions she will like.

7 FOLLOW THE SWALLOW – Not the most consistent of performers and hasn’t won since a beginners’ chase in March 2016. Quite likely that he is well handicapped considering his tumbling mark but a poor strike rate does make him a slightly risky betting proposition.

8 NEWBERRY NEW – A decent performer over timber but has yet to transfer that form to the larger obstacles. Switched from the Jessie Harrington yard to Harriet Bethell and hasn’t won since so isn’t them most reliable and can be overlooked off a break.

9 JUST GEORGIE – Has yet to win in twelve attempts under rules but is quite a consistent performer having been placed seven times in those starts. Reappeared for the season with a moderate third but could have an each way chance if coming on for that run.

10 SIRUH DU LAC – Had just three starts over hurdles and had the misfortune to bump into smart mare Evening Hush and subsequent Triumph Hurdle winner Defi Du Seuil. Was sent chasing after just three runs and was pulled up in a decent looking race, this is more realistic.

11 ASTIGOS – Has just one win from twenty starts and although that was on a much higher mark than he is off today he is hard to recommend. Has been badly out of form for a while and showed little to nothing on debut for a new yard so is not an attractive betting proposition.
