11.06am Crayford Race Preview 29/06/2018

An early start on Friday morning for the myracing, com greyhound syndicate with Meenagh Mourinho out in just the third race of the morning at Crayford. It will be the card at Romford that will see the focus of the greyhound tips tonight, looking to build on winning accas the last two Wednesday’s. Let’s break down the task facing Jose this morning.

11.06am Crayford 29/06/2018 A2 Grade

Trap 1 Go Tess – Pup has made a promising start to her career, already an A4 and A3 winner in just four starts. She will need to do more now up another level but a slow starter to her immediate right will help and there should be plenty more to come from her.

Trap 2 Phone Book – No instant early but he paces to the bend well and has decent middle gears. Has roared up the grades here, the winner of 4 of his 6 races having started in A7. This is clearly his stiffest task to date, but he has 23.47 and 23.50 in the book already.

Trap 3 Subterfuge – Found winning tough at Harlow, successful just twice in 16 runs, made no mistake in an A3 on his Crayford debut, putting in impressive work from the second bend. No great early so needs the gaps to open down the back but possibly more to come.

Trap 4 Broadway Zero – Has some early boot on occasions but it has not stopped him from finding trouble at the bend. Wins in A4 and A3 so far, without really looking in love with the track. Just 2 of his 9 runs are under 24 seconds, others appeal more.

Trap 5 Meenagh Mourinho – Back down to A2 level here should help, especially against a bunch of hounds who are A3 winners coming up. The downside is the draw, a distinctly modest record from orange (2/13) compared to stripes (6/19) so despite a drop in class, the draw may be his undoing once more.

Trap 6 Petes Boy – Just the two runs here, beating Jose when they met from the same draws in an A1 last time out. An A2 winner at Sheffield he has trialled in well here so if he can beat Jose to the punch, he should be right in the mix.

Conclusion

A lot of A3 winners coming up make this one of the easier A2’s on paper that Jose has run in, but both the 1 and 2 are rapidly progressive youngsters so no surprise if they are both well capable of winning at this level sooner rather than later. Jose would have a strong chance if he comes away in his best fashion but he failed to get clear of the 6 on Saturday from the same draws so that has to be a significant concern once more.
