10.19pm Crayford Race Preview 05/05/2018

Meenagh Mourinho

The second runner of the day for the myracing.com greyhound syndicate is Meenagh Mourinho, deep on the Crayford evening card. The Towcester action will be over, with our Greyhound Derby Tips hopefully still in the running. It will be from Towcester that our usual greyhound tips will come from tonight, but we’ll have an eye on how the track at Crayford is running for Jose.

10.19pm Crayford 05/05/2018 A3 Grade

Kelva Cuthbert – A fellow inmate at Jim Daly’s, he was victorious at this level back in February. He was a top grade winner last August in a slick 23.54, a decent turn of early pace when he is on his game. Certainly well capable if he hits the lids as he can.

Scala Mags – Not the most electric trapper but she paces up to the bend well. She has some solid times in her book in recent weeks, including behind the very smart Late Hyena who won an A2 on Friday. Needs plenty of respect if she can control the inside.

Pesky Partridge – Only had three runs in his life, a little unlucky not to be unbeaten in those starts. He is still green, especially on the bends, but clocked 23.54 on Saturday night. With the prospect of more to come, he is going to be tough to beat.

Sleepy Genie – Smart early pace, but she has been behind both Scala Mags and Pesky Partridge respectively the last twice. She will need a little luck if she is to reverse the placings with that pair of rivals.

Meenagh Mourinho – Two solid runs since returning from a break, his sole disappointing one was when he was unable to clear Sleepy Genie at the bend, when behind that hound and Scala Mags. He will have to be on his toes to clear this field tonight.

Conclusion

Plenty of early boot in this contest, none more than the 4 dog who flew to the bend on Saturday night. He was going too quick for his own good, running off the bend there. He was still only just picked up on the line, looking all over the dog to be with on his next appearance in this grade. The 2 has been in smart form of late and looks next best, Jose’s chance will come if he is able to clear the 5 early, something that he failed to do two starts back.
