1.40pm Punchestown Tips & Betting Preview 19/11/2017

A small but high quality field for this Grade 2 contest with a prize of €26,255. Read on for expert analysis and betting tips.

IN SUMMARY: It was impossible not to be impressed with the way PRESENTING PERCY went about things on his chase debut when readily taking care of some pretty useful opposition. Further progress is likely and this classy individual could complete a quick double for Davy Russell. Jury Duty and Shattered Love should be no pushovers with the mare marginally preferred as the one to chase the selection home.

1 ARBRE DE VIE – A useful chaser who claimed the notable scalp of Shaneshill earlier in the year at Galway. Was beaten a long way at the same track last time however and comes here with a fair amount to prove following that performance.

2 CALL THE TAXIE – Bolted up on chase debut before finishing third next time out, when ahead of the disappointing Arbre De Vie. This demans a lot more however and he might find himself outclassed by a few of these.

3 JURY DUTY – Ran a cracker when third to today’s rival Presenting Percy in the Pertemps at the Festival and has made a bright start to his chasing career. Won with the minimum fuss on debut but was well beaten last time and needs to find some improvement.

4 PRESENTING PERCY – A brilliant winner at the Cheltenham Festival last year he struggled slightly when stepped up to Grade 1 company but is an exciting recruit to chasing nonetheless. He beat a couple of solid yardsticks easily last time and jumped like an old hand; strong claims.

5 SHATTERED LOVE – A lovely mare who was thought good enough to run in the Neptune in March, she didn’t figure that day but could be a totally different beast over fences. She has won her two starts so far by a combined thirty-three lengths and has a chance receiving weight all around.
