IN SUMMARY: It’s very hard to look past GLANCE BACK, who finished a close third on chasing debut despite jumping left and hanging badly when asked for an effort. He will have improved markedly for the experience and off the same mark he looks a formidable force under three pound claimer Jamie Bargary. The main danger is Red Tortue, who shaped better than the bare result last time and a drop in trip is ideal.
Skipping On | J: Patrick Cowley T: Laura Morgan
Ready win despite mistakes at Towcester two starts ago, unseating his rider when still going well at the same venue last time. His seven pound rise has now kicked in but he's still unexposed over fences. He does need to jump better and that should come with experience. Considered.
Bally Lagan | J: Jack Quinlan T: Robin Dickin
Placed off a comparable mark at Warwick in September, but he's failed to match that the last twice. All his best form has come at distances further than this and he'll need a strong pace to be shown to best effect, which he may not get here. Better ground would have been preferable.
Mondo Cane | J: Adam Pogson T: Charles Pogson
Kept on dourly to finish third over 2m 4f two starts ago, unseating while in contention at Fakenham last time. He has won at this distance previously so the drop in distance is interesting, with today's mark one he's able to overcome. One to consider.
Glance Back | J: Jamie Bargary T: Emma-Jane Bishop
Jumped left and hung badly on the bend for home on his chasing debut over course and distance, still only beaten a hand full of lengths. He can only improve for that run and he's on the same mark here. Bargary removes three pounds and he's a leading player as he's the potential improver.
Red Tortue | J: Robert Dunne T: Jennie Candlish
Nine year old who shaped better than the bare result suggested when seventh at Doncaster last time, leading for a long way and only weakening two out. On that evidence a drop in distance should suit and he's fallen to a mark of 87, which sees him extremely well treated.
Lost In Newyork | J: Tom Broughton T: Nick Kent
1/44 under rules and he's 0/13 over fences, never in the hunt at Catterick last time. He jumped sloppily and was detached from the offset. None of his recent form suggests he can get into the frame here and he's also out of the handicap.
