13:35 - Wincanton Preview & Tips
A year’s absence didn’t faze the likeable JENNYS SURPRISE, who took another chasing victory with a good success at Uttoxeter last month. She has been raised six pounds but that still leaves her well treated on the best of her form and she shouldn’t be for catching, as this drop in trip is of little concern. Daklondike may have found his latest run coming too soon but it was still a disappointing performance and his mammoth weight of 12st 1lb could anchor him late on.
Improved form since going over fences for David Pipe, winning two starts ago at Wetherby by a wide margin. Raised seven pounds, he was well held on his latest start and he's effectively five pounds higher now. He's got a big weight to overcome here and he looks vulnerable.
Jennys Surprise (IRE) | J: Paddy Brennan T: Fergal O'Brien
Back to winning ways on her latest start when winning at Uttoxeter last month, raised six pounds in the handicap as a result. That still leaves her well treated on the best of her form and she looks the bet in a competitive affair.
Gorsky Island | J: Mr N. George T: Tom George
Two wins from eleven starts over fences and he posted one of his best efforts when second at Stratford in June, flattered by the margin as the leader idled late on. He's a pound higher here and a repeat performance gives him an each way contender.
Wizards Bridge | J: Harry Cobden T: Colin Tizzard
Not the most consistent of horses but he knows where the winning line is, finising fourth at Exeter on his latest start in a tough race. He's a pound lower here and he goes on softer ground, but he can only be given each way claims off today's mark.
Bugsie Malone (IRE) | J: Tom Cannon T: Chris Gordon
One win from thirteen starts under rules and he was well beaten on his latest start at Fontwell, weakening tamely when headed. A drop back in trip should suit and he's three pounds lower here, but others make more appeal as winning isn't his forte.
Gardiners Hill (IRE) | J: James Bowen T: David Rees
Inconsistent sort who has been well beaten on most of his starts since winning at Hereford in February. He was brought down early on when last seen but prior to that he was well beaten off today's mark and he's best watched.
Pink Gin | J: Mark Grant T: Nigel Twiston-Davies
Has gone close on two of his three starts over fences, five lengths behind the winner when second at Ffos Las on his latest start. He's on the same mark and well treated on the best of his hurdling form. Can run his race without managing to take victory.
