The second runner on Crayford’s Saturday morning card for the myracing greyhound syndicate is Meenagh Mourinho. This is his second run back from a break so he should strip a little fitter for that already smart effort. Our greyhound tips tonight will come from the meeting at Newcastle.

1.22pm Crayford 21/04/2018 A6 Grade

Fawkham Chaser – Pup was behind Jose last week, having missed the up slightly. He worked his way up the grades well earlier in the year and has potential for better. Does need to do a little more if he is to turn round last Saturday’s form.

Scala Mags – Recent arrival from Ireland, she picked up a win at the first attempt at this level. Sent off a short-priced favourite back down to A3 last time, she was picked up close home. Yet to really ping from these traps, may need to do so here to win.

Madame Moo Moo – A fellow Kelva inmate, she has not won in her last twelve attempts at this level. She has been running well without getting her head in front, will have to ride her luck early to get round cleanly.

Pass Remarkable – Put in some smart recent clockings, with plenty of early boot to clear those inside him. He bolted up in this grade at the end of January, with a solid shout the way the race is set up to at least go close once more.

Sleepy Genie – Strong performance to win an A4 on her debut at the track, she went close at this level last time having smashed the lids. She came from Drumbo (like Jose) and while her form there was not as good as his, she has started very well at this track.

Meenagh Mourinho – One of the quickest to the bend at the track when he is on his game. He made an impressive return to action last week, just nailed on the line. He will need another smash break with plenty of pace in 4 and 5, but he has the class to win this.

Conclusion

Given that last Saturday’s run was Jose’s first in almost two months, he was right at his best, smashing the lids only to get nailed on the line. A repeat of that would give him a big chance at this level, though he does have a little more early pace to lead up this time. If he can’t clear those inside, the 4 looks the most likely winner, with the 1 a nice pup with the potential for better.
